Subjects Taught

I am an alum of Southwest Onslow High School, class of '82. I graduated from Montana State University Northern with a BS in Elementary Education and a teaching minor in Reading at the age of 40. I am certified K12 in Reading which is why I enjoy teaching in the primary grades. I have a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on using Technology from University of Phoenix and I have added to my Master's an add-on in School Administration from University of North Carolina Wilmington.

I have been teaching since 2004. My first year was in 5th grade, which was followed by three years teaching Kindergarten in the morning and K12 Technology in the afternoon. The following year I taught Kindergarten in the new full-day program. In 2009 I relocated from Montana to North Carolina and began teaching in Jones County. I taught 1st for two years, then looped up to 2nd and looped down to Kindergarten, which I taught for two years. I am excited to be teaching at Southwest Elementary School. Here I have taught a year of 2nd grade and this will be my third year in Kindergarten at Southwest Elementary School.

I was born on Camp Lejune and raised in the Catherine Lake area. I attended Blue Creek Elementary and Southwest Onslow, which at the time was 7-12. I graduated in 1982 and joined the United States Air Force. I served in Georgia and Montana and had school in Texas, New Mexico and South Dakota. I worked in Security, Civil Engineering as well as ICBMs. I served for 20 years, met my wife LeAnn and raised three children in Montana. My oldest Ronnie is attending MSU Bozeman with his wife Chawney. TJ and Alisha live in Great Falls and TJ is a contractor. Alena is married to Berto and they are stationed in Okinawa. I have five grandchildren,  Tucker, Connor, Jocelyn, Lia and Eliana. I love spending time at the beach.
