Subjects Taught
Second Grade

I attended North Georgia College & State University, as well as Piedmont College and the University of Phoenix.  I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

This is my 8th year teaching.  Before coming to Southwest Elementary, I taught in a variety of other schools.  These schools varied from a Department of Defense school, a private school, public school in another state, as well as another school right here in Onslow County!

I am very excited to have your child in my 2nd grade class this year!  I am looking forward to getting to know each and every child, as well as the parents.  My classroom will offer a positive environment for your child to grow as an individual, and as a student.  I will address each child’s learning styles and will tailor the work to their individual needs.  Lessons will be a combination of teacher-led and student-led activities.  It is very important that students learn to be a part of the community and to get along with peers; group activities, partner work, and peer collaboration will help them learn these essential skills.  This year will be filled with fun and exciting new curriculum!
