Speech Contest

Your student was given topic, planning, and grading information about this year's speech contest.  Please check with your child to go over these materials and expectations.

This year's topic is based on the question, "What does it mean to be a hero?"  All students are required to participate in this annual contest according to Onslow County Schools.  All speeches must be ready for presentation the week of February 27, 2017.

Here is a link to the main brochure about the speech contest:

Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

Open House - Laptop Presentation

Please join us for our Open House and Laptop Presentation on Thursday, September 29, from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  Interim reports will be distributed during this time and you may sign up for upcoming parent conferences.  The laptop presentations will be on a continuous rolling basis in each teacher's classroom.  A student's parent/guardian must sign the laptop usage form to enable their child to take the laptop home.  If the $25.00 fee has not been paid yet, please plan to pay during the Open House.

Welcome to Fifth Grade!

It's going to be a GREAT year!  I am looking forward to working with each and every one of you.

Students will be receiving their laptops the week of September 12, but they will not be taking them home until later in the month.  Remember that there is a $25 fee for these that should be paid prior to the release for home usage.

If you have any questions or concerns during the year, please contact me either through the email system, Class Dojo, or leave a phone message with the school office.

Let's all SHINE this year!
